Project manager of the Civil War Petitions Project

Dr Ismini Pells is the project manager of the Civil War Petitions Project in the Department for Continuing Education at the University of Oxford. Her research interests are in early modern military and medical history, in particular during the British Civil Wars. She completed her PhD at the University of Cambridge, where her thesis examined the career of Philip Skippon, commander of the infantry in the New Model Army. She was a postdoctoral research associate at the Universities of Exeter and Leicester, before moving to Oxford in 2021. Ismini is the author of Philip Skippon and the British Civil Wars: the ‘Christian Centurion’ (Abingdon, 2020).
